Job summary

IHA in Mason City, IA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit to provide comprehensive, family-centered maternity care in a safe, coordinated environment. The unit features 5 labor/delivery rooms and 14 postpartum/antepartum rooms for recovery and bonding.

An integrated obstetric operating suite ensures rapid access for cesarean births while keeping mothers and babies close to the care teams they know. This full-time position requires rotating shifts and teamwork across units.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in obstetric care and/or acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care with the multidisciplinary team using the nursing process and maintain professional nursing standards.
• Birth Center and Pediatrics are sister units and staff float between these units.

The unit features 5 dedicated labor and delivery rooms that support personalized, attentive care throughout the birthing experience. Following delivery, patients transition to one of our 14 comfortable postpartum and antepartum rooms, creating a calm and supportive setting for recovery and bonding.

Position Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Previous experience in obstetric care and / or acute care preferred.

Special Skills And Competencies

• Required successful certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring via National Certification Center (NCC) within 1 year of starting orientation to the Labor and Delivery area and maintains certification.
• Preferred professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certification)s
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
