Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an RN for Labor and Delivery on a per diem basis. Shifts run 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with per diem commitment of 32-72 hours on a 6-week schedule.

You will assess patients, coordinate care, and communicate with the health care team while providing patient education tailored to individual needs and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment and collect health data.
• Coordinate patient plan of care to ensure safe, timely interventions.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and care teams in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to evaluate nursing practice.
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing standards, laws and regulations.

$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
• Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

What you will need

• Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois
