Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas-West region seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee patient care using a professional practice model. You will perform patient assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and delegate tasks based on team competencies and patient needs.

You will educate patients and families, collaborate with colleagues to ensure safety and quality, and uphold nursing ethics and privacy while using electronic medical records and standard procedures to support optimal health

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN license.
• BLS certification or able to obtain within 30 days of start.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards, laws, and ethics.
• Proficient in medical terminology, EMR usage, and privacy rules.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
• Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional to foster therapeutic connections with patients and families.
• Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Work with colleagues and the community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
• Use different strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Key Success Factors

• A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area; understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
• Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
