Trinity Health in Mason City, IA is seeking a Part-time NICU Nurse for day shift to support the Labor and Delivery unit. You will care for well and ill newborns, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure safety and family-centered care.
The role emphasizes neonatal nursing oversight within the Birth Center and Pediatrics, with opportunities to float between units as needed and contribute to a compassionate care environment.
Employment Type: Part time. Shift: Day Shift.
Our Labor and Delivery unit is designed to provide comprehensive, family‑centered maternity care in a safe, welcoming, and highly coordinated environment. The unit features five dedicated labor and delivery rooms that support personalized, attentive care throughout the birthing experience. Following delivery, patients transition to one of our fourteen comfortable postpartum and antepartum rooms, creating a calm and supportive setting for recovery and bonding.
An integrated obstetric operating suite is located within the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring rapid access for cesarean births and urgent interventions while keeping mothers and babies close to the care teams they know. Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides advanced, specialized support for newborns who need additional monitoring or intermediate‑level care, allowing families to remain together within the same unit. Together, these features reflect our commitment to safety, compassion, and high‑quality maternal and newborn care.
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. NICU Nurse is specifically responsible for the care of the well and ill newborn who may require neonatal intensive care services. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff are expected to float between these units.
