Job summary

HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital is seeking an RN for Labor and Delivery to provide care for laboring moms and newborns, and to collaborate with the health care team to promote safety and quality outcomes.

You will participate in Shared Governance, attend unit meetings, and consider safety, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivering nursing services, while meeting certification requirements and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Fetal monitoring certification or degree within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and care for laboring moms and newborns.

• Provide care based on age-specific criteria and safety.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will demonstrate proficiency in assessment, treatment, and care for laboring moms and for newborns
• You will work in collaboration with other members of the health care team to protect, promote and optimize health and ability, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocate in the care of individuals and families
• You will exhibit the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient/s
• You will contribute to the practice of nursing through participation in Shared Governance, attendance at unit meetings, completion of surveys, sharing of ideas through informal and formal channels of communication
• You will consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring, or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
