This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for delivering nursing care through the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills, and uses independent nursing judgment to achieve quality patient outcomes. Duties are performed within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I & II, as defined in the job description.
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant care to patients, applying principles of growth and development across the lifespan. The ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs is essential. This role provides professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting.

Complete annual education related to specialty standards through various training methods.
Meet physical demands, including safe patient handling and stamina for lifting and moving patients. Visual and auditory acuity within normal range are required.

The CAPE program supports professional development through a clinical ladder system, with specific requirements for each level, including experience, education, certifications, and competencies such as charge nurse or preceptor roles.
