Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Nights

3x11.5 - Night shift, 7 PM to 7 AM.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery will assess patients' clinical conditions, recognize and interpret serious situations, and take appropriate actions. The RN will formulate nursing diagnoses and develop care plans for individual patients, while considering their diverse needs and expected outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and prioritize care actions.
- Develop individualized plans of care through patient interviews and health record reviews.
- Initiate emergency measures when required, including resuscitation.
- Operate and monitor emergency care equipment.
- Administer prescribed therapeutic measures and medications.
- Document patient observations, interventions, and progress toward outcomes.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among nursing staff and other health professionals.
- Oversee care administered by unlicensed personnel.
- Maintain a safe environment and adequate supplies for unit operation.
- Promote professional growth and adherence to ethical standards in nursing practice.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in Labor and Delivery.
- Valid NY RN License.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
