Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care across all settings, collaborating with healthcare team members.
  • The RN is responsible for their professional development and practicing within legal scope of care.
  • Using organizational resources, the RN advocates for patient safety, delegates care appropriately, and participates in performance and practice improvement activities.
  • The nursing care delivered aligns with the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of Kettering Health Network and its nursing departments.

Qualifications

Applicants Must Have:

  • Ohio licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) if a new graduate.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, to be completed within 5 years of hire.
  • For nurses returning to acute care after five or more years, evidence of a successful refresher course may be required.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS certifications as dictated by the unit's scope of practice.
