Job summary

Interventional Radiology RN position at Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a skilled nurse to support the IR service line during scheduled and emergent procedures. The role requires clinical strength, adaptability, and comfort with on-call responsibilities.

Shift is 8:00am-4:30pm with rotating 3-8 hour shifts and occasional after-hours calls. Department specifics include 2 IR suites, 1 CT procedure area, Hybrid Vascular OR Suite, and monitoring MRI Pacemaker patients; benefits include

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program.
  • The applicant's major field of study should be Nursing.
  • Candidates must be Registered Nurses (RN).
  • BLS certification is required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • 2 years of critical care experience preferred; IR experience preferred; Sedation experience preferred.

Interventional Radiology RN

This role supports a fast-paced Vascular Interventional Radiology service line, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care during both scheduled and emergent procedures. Ideal candidates are adaptable, clinically strong, and comfortable with on-call responsibilities.



Vascular Interventional Radiology

Department Specifics: 2 IR Suites, 1 CT Procedure area, Hybrid Vascular OR Suite, Monitor MRI Pacemaker patients


Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm; 3-8hr shifts per week (variable/rotating), Potential to move to fixed days.


Call: Approximately 3-4 shifts per month. On a call rotation after 5:30pm and on some weekends.


Requirements: 2 years of critical care experience preferred (ICU or ED). IR experience is preferred. Sedation experience preferred.


Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for emergent call

Job Summary

As an Interventional Radiology RN, use nursing expertise to deliver patient care with the healthcare team. Tasks include evaluating health, identifying issues, creating care plans, and tracking treatment responses. Help patients navigate their healthcare safely. Use knowledge of needs to prevent issues.

  • A basic understanding of the patient care practices, medical terminology, medications, and equipment used in interventional radiology nursing.

  • You must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to engage with different groups effectively.

  • The ability to track changes in patients' health and communicate clearly with nurses and doctors.

  • Basic computer skills, particularly knowledge of electronic medical documentation systems and email.
