Job Summary
- Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Uses a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Delivers nursing care independently, following the Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, standards, ethics, and professional judgment.
- Works rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions
- Administers nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in coordination with physicians during imaging procedures. Transports patients and reports to ancillary areas.
- Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Interacts with patients pre- and post-invasive procedures for history-taking, instruction, and follow-up. Provides education and counseling to patients and families.
- Ensures all medical supplies and equipment are available and functional, including EKG monitors, crash carts, medications, suction, oxygen, Ambu bags, airways, and E.T. trays.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued by the State of Iowa.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training.
- Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three months of hire.
- American Heart Association BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
