Job Description
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team, leading the coordination of patient care with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

• Shift Schedule: Full-time, Days
• Department: Intermediate Care 4 bed intermediate care unit that provides care to patients who often times have been transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit. The unit is staffed with 1 RN and 1 Nurse Tech. Patients in this unit are admitted with a variety of diagnoses requiring telemetry monitoring and IV medications.

What You’ll Need

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• RN licensure from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire for specific units.

Job Responsibilities (Not Limited To)

• Leadership: Serve as unit leader in the absence of the manager, supervise staff, serve as instructor, and participate in committees and conferences.
• Patient Care: Assess data, plan and implement age-appropriate care, educate patients/families, and evaluate responses.
• Discharge & Referrals: Participate in discharge planning and referrals.
• Documentation: Record all pertinent patient data accurately.
• Safety & Emergency Response: Practice safety protocols and respond to emergencies.
• Communication & Teamwork: Effectively communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team, guide staff, and serve as a resource.
• Professional Development: Complete mandatory and ongoing education, participate in meetings and committees, and engage in volunteer activities.
• Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
