Job summary

SSTAR in Fall River, MA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Inpatient Facility's Detox unit to manage acute withdrawal and support recovery. The role involves supervising care, implementing detox protocols, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Shifts are 36-40 hours per week on 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Must hold MA RN license and BLS/CPR; experience with EMR/NextGen preferred; training provided for detox protocols.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience with detoxification regimes a plus but training provided.
• CEU program participation required.
• EMR/NextGen experience preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• CORI release and clearance required.

Responsibilities

• RN renders and supervises care of patients on the Inpatient Units.
• Implements detoxification protocols as designated by the Medical Director.
• RN participates in evaluation of patient condition and progress with the team.
• Observes patients for clinical signs and follows prescribed treatment.
• RN records and reports all pertinent information related to patients' condition and effects of treatment.
• Assigns duties and supervises Recovery Specialists.
• Reports emergencies to Nursing Administrator on call.
• Collaborates with medical doctor, nurse practitioner or psychiatrist as necessary.
• Participates in program objectives and philosophy.
• Attends meetings and in-services to stay current with nursing practice.
• Participates in the development of the nursing treatment plan.
• Participates in QA as assigned by the nursing director.

Job description

SSTAR is hiring Nurses for our Inpatient Facility. The ATS-Detox unitmanages acute withdrawal and prepares patient to continue theirrecovery by alleviating acute physical and emotional dysfunctions thathave resulted from their substance use. The program provides medicallymonitored detoxification and stabilization to individuals that aredependent on various substances.

Shifts: 36-40 hours/week (three 12 hour shifts andoccasionally one 4 hour shift per week).

Every other Weekend and rotating holidays

Pay Range is $43-$48/hour plus differentials ranging from$2.25 - $7.00/hr.

Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for adesignated number of patients on the Inpatient Unit. Nurses areresponsible for recovery specialists assigned to assist with the careof the patients.

Specific Responsibilities

• RN renders and supervises care of patients on the Inpatient Units
• Implements specific detoxification protocols as designated by theMedical Director
• RN participates in the evaluation of patient’s condition andprogress with other team members
• Observes patients for clinical signs and symptoms and followsprescribed course of treatment
• RN records and reports all pertinent information related topatients’ condition and effects of treatment

• Reports to Nursing Administrator on call all emergency, medicaland disciplinary situations that require administrative intervention.
• Reports to medical doctor, nurse practitioner or psychiatrist, as necessary.
• Participates with other staff members in implementing programobjectives and philosophy
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings, attends conferencesand in-services to keep abreast of new trends in nursing practice.
• Participates in the development of the nursing treatment plan.
• Participates in QA as assigned by the nursing director.
• Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

Required Professional Qualifications:

• License to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) from theCommonwealth of Massachusetts
• Current certification in BLS/CPR
• Understanding of detoxification regimes in substance abuse a plusbut will train
• Participation in required CEU programs
• Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or NextGen a plus
• Familiarity and ability to work with diversity ofcultural/socio-economic backgrounds
• General knowledge of cultural backgrounds of patients to be served
• Must submit a CORI release form and demonstrate proof of beingfree from disqualifying information
