Job Description

The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients admitted and discharged from the facility. Responsibilities include working within departmental policies and regulations, functioning independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors, and collaborating with healthcare staff. The role requires passing a pharmacology test and attending mandatory education sessions annually. The nurse must maintain certifications and licensure requirements on time.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Document total care given and review patient charts per policy.
  • Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
  • Work professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Attend yearly mandatory education and maintain certifications and licenses.
