Job summary

Sanford Broadway Med Ctr in Fargo, ND, is hiring registered nurses (RN) for the Day Unit on a full-time schedule. The Day Unit admits patients 17 and older for elective surgeries and interventional radiology, with shifts in the day schedule and a 36-hour work week.

A sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. We seek compassionate, patient-focused RNs who excel in communication, time management, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; licensure required.
• Unencumbered RN license in the practice state; multistate licensure acceptable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; strong patient care skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates patient care, assessments, education, triage and nursing interventions.
• Collaborates with physicians and colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Empathetically cares for patients through preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
• Demonstrates nursing competency and uses professional skills.

Department Details

The Day Unit is a 29-bed unit that admits and discharges patients ages 17 and older. Patients cared for on this unit have scheduled elective surgical and interventional radiology. The care provided to patients is to safely prepare them prior to the scheduled procedure and discharge to home.

The Broadway Day Unit is open Monday-Friday from 5:00am until the last patient discharges in the evening.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
