Job summary

Unity Health Network is seeking an RN Infusion Nurse for its Akron and Hudson, OH locations. You’ll participate in day-to-day patient care, infusion procedures, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, and seamless handoffs. The role requires an Ohio RN license, ACLS, and at least 6 months infusion experience; travel to Hudson once weekly is expected.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Ohio.
• ACLS certification.
• 6+ months of infusion experience.
• Ability to multitask infusion duties and administrative tasks.
• Competence with peripheral IVs and central line access.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day clinical care of patients and participates in care delivery.
• Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates patient care per nursing theory.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families and inter-disciplinary team; advocates for quality care.
• Delivers and documents procedures, medications, IV therapy; reviews screening tests.
• Interprets clinical data and provides shift handoffs with relevant information.

Location:

701 White Pond Dr Suite 300 Akron, OH 44320 and will also travel 1 day per week to 231 Seasons Rd. Hudson, OH 44224

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Fridays: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversees and participates in the day-to-day clinical care of patients
• Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates patient care utilizing evidence and nursing theory in practice through the organization's care delivery model. Coordinates patient quality of care on behalf of provider.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to achieve healthcare goals. Acts as a patient advocate in regard to patient quality of care. Teaches patient/family at their level of understanding and documents response.
• Provides and documents procedures, medications, treatments and intravenous therapy. Reviews patients' screening tests and proactively provide the providers results.
• Interprets clinical data/patient responses and collaborates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. Provides prompt accurate shift/handoff reports and shares pertinent patient care information throughout shift, as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio
• ACLS
• 6+ months of infusion experience
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task between doing infusions and administrative work of prior authorizations and financial assistance
• Proven competent with peripheral IV's and Central Line access

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of doing prior authorizations for infusion medications
• Experience with mixing medications

• Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
