• Conduct surveillance of targeted infections, environmental risks, and clinical practices to identify trends and support timely mitigation efforts.
• Collaborate with the IPC Coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate infection-prevention initiatives that improve patient and staff safety.
• Communicate surveillance findings to clinical departments, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support education and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate documentation, prepare reports, and assist with audits or readiness activities related to regulatory compliance and accreditation.
• Provide guidance to staff regarding infection-control practices, standard precautions, and policy adherence to strengthen systemwide prevention efforts.

Physical Requirements:

The RN, Infection Prevention Control CEPS spends extended periods sitting or standing while reviewing records, performing surveillance activities, and entering data. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for analyzing clinical information, conducting environmental observations, and operating computer systems.

Environmental Requirements:

Strict adherence to PPE usage, infection-control protocols, and safety practices is required.
