Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience is highly desired.
• CIC certification is required.
• CPHQ is preferred.
• BLS certification must be current.

• Write, approve, and implement policies that adhere to IPC program requirements using CDC, OSHA, FDA, TJC, and APIC guidelines.

• Provide infection prevention education and training for SEARHC staff, patients, and communities.
• Conduct research to inform actions on infection prevention and assist in the overall IPC program implementation.
• Participate in committees and work collaboratively with the Performance Improvement team.

Job Description

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAI). This role involves monitoring reportable conditions, educating employees about infection prevention, and developing health system policies and procedures aligned with infection prevention and control standards set by organizations like the Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, CDC, and FDA.

• Write, approve, and implement policies that adhere to IPC program requirements using CDC, OSHA, FDA, TJC, and APIC guidelines.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current.
