Moffitt Cancer Center seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in line with hospital guidelines and ANA ethics. You will support up to 6 physicians and up to 5 nurse practitioners on clinic days, with occasional work near International Plaza.

The ideal candidate has an Florida RN license, an ASN from an ACEN/CCNE accredited program, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of relevant experience, plus strong communication and discharge

Summary

To deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.Registered Nurses embody the vision, mission, and philosophy of Moffitt Nursing and are committed to and accountable for personalized patient and family centered care and the concepts of Duffy’s quality caring model/caring factors. These frameworks of care include collaboration and mutual problem solving, dignity and human respect, encouraging manner, attentive reassurance, appreciation of unique meaning, healing environment, basic human needs, information sharing, caring for self, and affiliation needs. (see attached)Registered Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in baseline and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.The Professional Practice Model graphic and Duffy’s caring factors are attached.

Moffitt Cancer Center’s Genitourinary Oncology Program is a world-class destination for patients with cancers of the urinary tract and male genital organs. We are a high-paced , high-volume, National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with concentrated programs for even the rarest malignancies, and many of our physicians are fellowship-trained in urologic sub-specialties. As a result, we are a trusted partner of physicians across the nation in need to refer their patients to an advanced program for genitourinary cancer diagnosis or treatment.

Our Genitourinary Oncology Clinic accommodates 70-100 patients daily who have been diagnosed with or require diagnostic testing for any of the following cancers:

• Adrenal cancer


• Bladder cancer


• Kidney cancer


• Penile cancers


• Prostate cancer


• Renal cell cancer


• Teratoma


• Testicular cancer


• Urethral, urachal, ureteral or urothelial cancer

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team.

Position Highlights:

The Registered Nurse will provide support to up to 6 Physicians on some clinic days and up to 5 Nurse practitioners on other clinic days.

On occasion, the Registered Nurse may be scheduled to work at our location near International Plaza.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

Educating patients on all pre-op and post-op GU Surgical and Medical Oncology procedures

Phone triaging from time to time as part of his or her shift, sometimes the entire shift

Supporting 2 Medical Oncologists, 4-5 Surgeons, and 5 Nurse Practitioners on different clinic days

Performing cystoscopies, Foley catheter insertions, ostomy care, staple removal, wound care, bladder scanning and rectal swabs.

Credentials and Qualifications:

ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 yearof relevant experience

FL RN License

BLS Certification

Salary Range

$39.61 - $59.40

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
