Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver patient care through the nursing process in a hospital acute care setting, with emphasis on Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, with current Texas RN license and CPR.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes, participate in performance improvement, and provide culturally competent care across age groups.

Qualifications

• Three years experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital based acute care setting.
• Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
• Current CPR training program required.
• Current ACLS obtained within 6 months of being in the position for Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas.
• Current NPR training program obtained within 6 months of being in the position for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
• Nationally recognized nursing certification in working area required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Support the organization’s vision and mission. Utilize knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care.
