Job summary

Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Registered Nurse to maintain safe patient care and advocate for patient safety in collaboration with staff and departments, in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

The role includes using the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, triage and proper documentation, patient and family teaching, and potential supervision of staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current Indiana RN license or eligibility.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience.
  • CPR certification (AHA Healthcare Provider preferred).
  • TB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for patient safety and maintain safe patient care in collaboration with staff and departments.
  • Model Eskenazi Health values and provide high-quality, safe healthcare.
  • Utilize the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Triage and manage phone/walk-in patients to identify level of care and action.
  • Document assessments and nursing activities in the medical record accurately and legibly.
  • Educate patients and families with written information as available.
  • Supervise other staff when needed and support the development of learners.
