Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Nursing preferred, or an Associate/Diploma with BSN enrollment within two years and completion within four years, plus at least one year

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• RN with Associate or Diploma must enroll in BSN within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and lead other team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide developmentally appropriate care.
• Deliver patient/family centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and patient privacy, with professional behavior.
• Participate in shared governance and professional development to promote leadership and clinical excellence.
• Coordinate care and health teaching to achieve goals and improve patient outcomes.
