Job summary

Infusion Center seeks a skilled RN II for infusion care on a part-time schedule. You will monitor patients, manage IV therapy, and educate families during clinic visits.

Must hold an RN license with at least one year of experience; BSN preferred. Duties include venipuncture, tubing maintenance, and documentation while delivering safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess patient before, during, and after IV therapy.
• Determine venipuncture site and maintain IV access and tubing.
• Monitor for infections, adverse reactions, and complications, initiate emergency therapies.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate therapies including medications, blood products.
• Provide direct patient care per nursing protocols and document vitals and orders.
• Educate patients and families about IV treatment and discharge instructions.
• Document all patient-directed activities.

Job Summary:

Infusion nurses give patients medication and fluids via injection. Monitor patients, manage their tubing, maintain arterial catheters, and stay aware of potential drug complications, throughout the clinic visit.

Education & Experience

Must be licensed as RN for one (1) year. Two (2) years of RN experience in specified area preferred. BSN preferred.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Valid RN license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Role autonomy and independence, patient care and relationships, teamwork, patient teaching, innovative thinking, technical mastery. Experience and familiarity with infusion therapy preferred. Independence and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of the patient before, during and after the start of the intravenous medication.
• Determines appropriate venipuncture site and performs venous punctures and maintains the intravascular site including tubing and dressings.
• Monitors for infections, assess and treats patients for adverse reactions and complications, initiate emergency therapies.
• Initiates, monitors, and terminates therapies including medications, antineoplastic agents, investigational drugs, and blood products.
• Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols, including vital signs up to every 15 minutes, and physician's orders.
• Provides education to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and post discharge instructions.
• Documents all patient-directed activities.
