Job summary

Texas Health HEB is seeking an RN II Float in the Resource Pool to provide skilled nursing care across Observation, PCU/CSU, and Med Surg units. The position is full time, days only, with a 7A-7P schedule and rotated weekends/holidays, no on-call requirements.

The role requires a nursing diploma or ADN, RN license at hire, and certification readiness (BCLS). Experience in PCU is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or ADN required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• RN license required upon hire
• BCLS, ACLS (if required for float dept) required
• CPI and NIHSS certifications required within specified timeframes

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient needs prioritizing safety and comfort
• Provide holistic nursing care across multiple units in the float pool
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
• Support patient and family education and discharge planning

Work hours: Full Time (36 Hour) Days Shift; 7A-7P x3 shifts/week with rotating weekends, holidays, no on call

Department Highlights

• - Resource Pool Specialty Nurse
• - Floating between Observation, PCU/CSU, and Med Surg units

Education

• Education - Nursing Diploma (nursing) required
• Or - Associate's Degree Nursing required
• Or - Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Experience

• Experience - 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• - 1 year experience PCU as a Registered Nurse preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (if required for float dept) 90 days required
• CPI- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required
• NIHSS- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 60 days required
