Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care, conduct assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and educate patients and families. This role collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional team to ensure high-quality, compassionate care and accurate documentation.

The RN II participates in leadership activities such as unit governance, charge nurse duties, and precepting students or new staff to support hospital-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in healthcare environment.
• Graduate of an RN program approved by the credentialing body.
• Texas RN license or eligibility and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and assist with exams and treatment.
• Provide education to patients and families and maintain accurate medical records.
• Coordinate with physicians and interprofessional teams to ensure safe, effective care.
• Demonstrate leadership by participating in unit governance and mentoring staff.
