MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is seeking an RN II in Adult Oncology for a full-time, day shift (12-hour AWS). You will provide safe, patient-centered nursing care according to established standards and the nursing process in the Adult Oncology unit.

Position Summary

The RN, Registered Nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Adult Oncology department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Completion of pre-employment drug screening.
• Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.
• Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening, and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health.
• The RN must be able to comply with every other weekend work commitment as well as be available to work and be scheduled any day of the week.
• One (1) year minimum nursing experience in an oncology setting highly preferred.
• Must be willing to train and perform urology procedures and practices.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current CA RN license
• BSN required unless waived by nurse executive council review.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation.
• Must have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program or 12 hours of cancer-specific continuing education each calendar year; or must complete 12 cancer-specific CEU hours or have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program within one year of employment in an oncology unit.
  • A certification is qualified if it includes cancer-specific criteria.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy or OCN certification highly preferred.
