Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an experienced RN for the Medina Hospital ICU on a Weekender Flex schedule. You will provide direct nursing care in a fast-paced unit, monitor patient conditions, administer therapies, and collaborate with a skilled team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS or commitment to obtain ACLS within the first year. Work hours include rotating day and night shifts with extended weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred or must be obtained within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients on a weekender flex schedule.

Medina Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers newly renovated patient beds, state-of-the-art technical equipment and top-quality patient care. This unit sees cardiac patients as well as those with insulin drips, respiratory issues, neuro issues, kidney disease, Intubation, TEE, chest tube insertion and Central Line placement. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. By taking this opportunity, you'll join an exceptional, team-oriented unit who has caregivers who have been on the unit for over 25 years.

This RN position is part of Cleveland Clinic's Weekender Flex Program and will require you to work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week. While you are only working 36 hours a week, Cleveland Clinic will pay you for 44 hours of work and give you full-time status and benefits. This schedule allows caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week with family and friends and take care of any errands that will not interfere with a typical day shift schedule.

A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
