Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine

Position: RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit * Seasonal Nights; 13 week contract - 1st week of full orientation, then 3-12 hour shifts per week

Patient Population: Medical, Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac

Shift: PRN, Nights, 7p-7a Patient Ratios: 1:2 Number of Beds: 20 beds Department Specifics: Level II Trauma, Primary Stroke Center, Thrombectomy Capable, 24/7 Intensivist coverage, Strong collaboration with ICU Physicians/Surgeons, Committees/Unit Based Council, Furthering Education-Nurse Practitioner, CRNA, etc. Excellent culture of teamwork, learning and safety. Required Experience: * PRN Candidates must have (2) two-plus years current/very recent ICU experience that includes neuro/medical critical care and currently skilled in patients requiring CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator and line management.

Job Summary

As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.

  • Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
  • Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
  • Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
  • Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
