Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit at Grapevine. The 13-week assignment runs 7pm-7am in a Level II Trauma, high-acuity environment with 1:2 patient ratios and 20 beds. Requires two years of recent ICU experience and a valid RN license.

The role focuses on assessments, care planning, safe patient environments, and collaborative practice with ICU physicians and staff to ensure quality care and patient safety.

Intensive Care Unit

Patient Population: Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, Cardiac

Patient Ratios: 1:2

Number of Beds: 20 beds

Department Specifics: Level II Trauma, Primary Stroke Center, Thrombectomy Capable, 24/7 Intensivist coverage, Strong collaboration with ICU Physicians/Surgeons, Committees/Unit Based Council, Furthering Education-Nurse Practitioner, CRNA, etc. Excellent culture of teamwork, learning and safety.

Shift: SEASONAL (13 WEEKS); 7pm-7am

Requirement: 2 years of recent ICU experience

As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.

• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
• Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
