Day shift with 36 hours guaranteed per week; housing options are available within a 20-mile radius of Arcata. Prior CCU/ICU experience is preferred to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within the unit.

• Occasionally float to other units to cover breaks and assist as needed.

Job Summary

The ICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This role involves continuous monitoring, assessment, and intervention to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, administer medications, and utilize advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. An active California RN license along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in ICU and CCU settings.


• Monitor vital signs and patient status continuously, responding promptly to changes.


• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.


• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.


• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within the unit.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) screen within 12 months prior to contract start.


• Minimum of 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred.
