RN ICU

Positions Available:

  • Days = 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
  • Nights = 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Full Time - 0.9 FTE & Part Time - 0.6 FTE available!)
  • Rotating =
    • 6 weeks from 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
    • 6 weeks from 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

This position works every 3rd weekend and holiday.

Responsibilities:

  • The MICU is a 12-bed unit caring for acutely ill medical patients and the SICU is an 8-bed unit caring for acutely ill surgical patients.
  • Nurses are trained to interpret dysrhythmias, balloon pumps, CRRT, etc., and are involved in miscellaneous bedside procedures.
  • In the SICU, the nurses will be required to undergo extensive training in the recovery and care of an immediate post-op open heart patient. A variety of trauma, thoracic, vascular, and abdominal surgery cases are also managed.
  • Both units have continuous bedside monitoring in all patient rooms to facilitate accurate and close monitoring.
  • Nurses also manage vasoactive medications for blood pressure issues along with sedation for those who are ventilated.
  • Nurse patient ratio is 1:2 and varies some depending on acuity.
  • Annual education and competency is provided.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
  • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Within 6 months of hire, must acquire and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Must maintain annual unit-specific educational requirements as specified by Nurse Manager.
