RN ICU Full Time Nights Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing safe, effective, culturally appropriate, and population specific nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process. The RN administers and performs required nursing care and treatments identified on the patients’ individualized care plans in accordance with general nursing policy, as well as in adherence to any policies and protocols specific to the nursing unit. The RN reports to the charge nurse on the unit during the assigned shift. Assignment is dictated by census and staffing needs. The RN is also responsible for the direction and supervision of any unlicensed personnel providing care to his/her patient.

RN ICU Full Time Nights Position Requirements:

Education:

  1. Must have a South Carolina Registered Nurse license or multistate licensure from another Compact State within the prescribed guidelines of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.

Experience:

  1. A minimum of 1-year of previous critical care experience preferred.
  2. A minimum of 6 months licensed nursing practice on a telemetry step-down unit or successful completion of a critical care training program preferred.
  3. Previous experience with the management of post-op CABG/valve patients preferred.
  4. CRRT experience preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  1. Current BLS (American Heart Association only) certification required.
  2. Current ACLS (American Heart Association only) required prior to completion of orientation.
