Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano (BSW Plano)

Shift: Full Time Days

Minimum Requirements: 2+ years ICU RN experience

Patient Population: Adult Mixed Medical/Surgical ICU with heavy Neurological component

Patient Ratio: 1:2

Number of Beds: 32

Job Summary: As an RN, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include assessment, recognizing health issues, creating and evaluating care plans, and monitoring patient responses. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks appropriately.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections.
  • Reflect patient values in care plans to resolve issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create care plans, delegate tasks, and follow up promptly.
  • Use problem‑solving strategies with patients, families, and staff; prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to continuous growth.

  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, and hospital guidelines.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, disease prevention, and medication management.
