Job summary

The Heart Hospital in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Universal Bed (CUB) Unit. This full‑time night position (3x12) requires 2+ years in ICU/PCU care, Telemetry, and critical cardiac patient management.

A 5,000 USD sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible candidates. The unit handles Telemetry, PCU, ICU and CVICU patients with 1:4 Telemetry, 1:3 PCU, 1:2 ICU, and 1:1 CVICU ratios.

Qualifications

• RN with minimum 2 years of RN experience in ICU or PCU.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and create/adjust care plans.

• Shift/Schedule - Full Time, Nights. 3x12, 6:45 PM- 7:15 AM.
• Requirement- Requires a min of 2 yrs of RN experience in ICU or PCU

2 CUB (Cardiac Universal Bed Model) Unit

Patient Population: Cardiac and Vascular: CHF, Immediate post‑op heart bypass and valves (Cardiac Universal Bed model: Care for Telemetry, PCU, ICU and CV patients)

Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Tele); 1:3 (PCU); 1:2 (ICU); 1:1 (CVICU) Immediate post‑op or unstable ICU patients connected to specialized devices

Number of Beds: 20 beds

Department Specifics: Skills leveling, Caring for ICU Devices (Impella, IABP, CRRT, EKOS, lumbar drain); World renown surgeons, magnet hospital, active Unit Based Council.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions of the Role

• As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
