Job summary

Glenwood Regional Medical Center is seeking an Intensive Care RN to direct, plan and organize the ICU nursing activities for an assigned shift with focus on patient, physician and staff needs.

You will deliver skilled nursing care through the nursing process, coordinate care with the care team, and act as a patient advocate while maintaining current professional standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Louisiana nursing license in good standing.
• BLS is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan and organize nursing activities on the ICU unit for the assigned shift.
• Deliver skilled patient care through the nursing process according to policies and procedures.
• Coordinate care among patient/family, medicine, nursing and supportive teams; advocate for patients.

Education

Position Summary

The Intensive Care RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the ICU unit for an assigned shift with focus on patient, physician and staff needs. The RN is responsible for delivering skilled patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, and ancillary and other team personnel; acts as patient advocate; and maintains current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• An active Louisiana nursing license in good standing with the Louisiana nursing board is required.
• Previous clinical nursing experience working in the ICU is desired.
• BLS is required within 30 days of the hire date.
• All other certifications are due within 90 days of the hire date, i.e., ACLS and PALS.
