Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Registered Nurse for an ICU/CVICU role in Illinois. You will provide specialized care for critically ill patients, including cardiac monitoring, arterial/central line management, and ventilator support, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

A minimum of 2 years ICU experience and ACLS/BLS/NIH certifications are required. The position requires night shifts, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 20-bed unit, and on-site work in Decatur, IL.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois.

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH required.
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation.
• Proficient in IV therapy including arterial line, central line, PICC, and blood product administration.
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medication administration, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips.
• Respiratory management skills including ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to ICU patients, focusing on cardiac and critical care needs.
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs.
• Manage pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and interventions.
• Care for patients with chronic and acute renal failure.
• Administer IV therapy including accessing ports, arterial line and central line management, blood product administration, PICC line care, and starting IVs.
• Administer continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, ventilated patient care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and ventilator management.
• Implement infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and use of PPE.
• Respond to code blue and rapid response situations effectively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic medical records.

The nurse will perform advanced IV therapy, medication administration, respiratory support, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Special Considerations

• Night shift position from 1800 to 0630 hours.
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 20-bed ICU unit.
• Work every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirement.
• Floating within nursing scope may be required to meet facility needs.
• RTO restrictions ideally no more than 5 days.
• Parking permit required, provided at no cost.
• Must have active Illinois RN license; pending licenses not accepted.

Scheduling

• Night shift: 1800 to 0630.
• Work every other weekend.
• Block schedule accommodations can be discussed with the manager.
• Guaranteed hours subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment.
