ICU: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Level II Trauma Mixed Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive, high‑acuity care for critically ill adult patients within a 16‑bed, Level II Trauma, mixed Medical/Trauma/Surgical ICU. The RN manages patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, circulatory assist devices, and complex multisystem interventions. Using evidence-based practice and strong clinical judgment, the RN delivers safe, high‑quality care in a fast‑paced trauma-capable environment.
The unit supports a diverse, high-acuity patient population and is also recognized as an environment supportive and preparatory for future and aspiring CRNAs, offering exposure to advanced airway, hemodynamic, and critical care concepts.
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe.The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associates degree in Nursing required. BSN degree preferred or must agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five years.Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required. BLS required. Previous medical surgical experience preferred. Must be computer proficient and have excellent customer service skills.
