Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Nebraska seeks an ICU RN to monitor critically ill patients, assist with procedures, and coordinate care per the plan. You’ll take reports, provide continuous monitoring, and advocate for patients throughout the shift.

A 16-bed ICU operates as a designated stroke center serving a diverse population. We offer up to $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 in educational assistance for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within five months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within five months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Anticipate, identify, and respond to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Guide and direct healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and use; utilize alarms when necessary.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our ICU RN at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life‑threatening disease. Every day, you will take a report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You’ll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan. This could mean assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, ensuring patients MRI or CT, or administering medications. To thrive in this vital role, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You’ll clinically care for your patients – remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitoring your patients throughout your shift. You also serve as their advocate – supporting their best interests when they cannot.

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.

Where You'll Work

We are a 16‑bed ICU that cares for a wide variety of critically ill patients with renal, cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, neuro‑surgical, endocrine, GI, and surgical conditions. We are a designated stroke center and we care for a diverse population of patients, pulling from multiple areas of the state.

Pay Range

$36.00 – $52.20 per hour.
