Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital seeks an RN caregiver to provide direct nursing care and coordinate care plans for ICU patients. The role requires strong patient interaction with families and the ability to implement and revise care plans in collaboration with physicians and nurses.

The candidate must be an RN with Ohio licensure and at least one year of acute care experience, with BLS and ACLS certifications either on hire or within a year.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Military RN experience will be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification through AHA or Red Cross upon hire or within one year.

The 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at South Pointe Hospital treats patients suffering from various conditions that require advanced medical, surgical and cardiac care. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. OR 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
• Will consider military RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
