Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Beachwood, Ohio is hiring an RN on the 9 Surgical Unit to deliver exceptional patient care using state-of-the-art technology. The unit is known for its family atmosphere and collaborative team environment, with emphasis on patient-first care and education for patients and families. The role includes day/night 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

and 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via AHA or Red Cross
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care setting

Responsibilities

• Assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge.
• Interact with patients, families and visitors, offering to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity, preferences and resources.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and take corrective action.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records

South Pointe Hospital’s 9 Surgical Unit provides a wide range of surgical and post-surgical services to adult patients. This 16-bed unit is known for its family atmosphere and friendly and positive work environment where caregivers put their patients first. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one-year current acute direct patient care RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
