Job Summary

28-bed unit caring for Trauma, Neurosurgery, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics (over 15 years of age), Gynecology, and Plastics patients. Our nurses promote functional mobility for surgical patients as they transition home or to skilled care facilities.

As a registered nurse, you are expected to deliver excellent care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy. RNs coordinate and provide individualized care for patients of all ages, utilizing delegation and critical thinking skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Completing age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting, and developing a care plan.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate an interdisciplinary plan of care, revising as needed.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Administering and documenting treatments and medications accurately using electronic medical records.
• *Must meet sign-on bonus criteria.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.

Experience: None required.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Virginia or eligibility, CPR certification, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP.

Other: Computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC), successful completion of orientation and competency requirements, and ability to meet essential job functions.
