The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of psychiatric care experience, an active TX RN license (or multi-state compact), and certifications in CPR, Handle with Care, and Service Excellence.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year of related experience in psychiatric patient care.
Licensure: Active RN license in TX or multi-state compact.
Additional Requirements: Handle with Care, Service Excellence Training, CPR certification.

Assumes responsibility for complete facility operations during the assigned shift.
Supervises nursing and clinical staff; ensures timely, accurate patient care.
Directs Charge Nurses, RNs, LVNs, and MHTs in unit milieu management.

Position Summary

The PRN House Supervisor (RN) assumes responsibility for complete facility operations during the assigned shift. This includes supervising nursing and clinical staff, ensuring that patient care is provided in an accurate and timely manner. This position has responsibility for the supervision of care of patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Contributes to improving hospital operations and services by making suggestions for changing and modifying practices, and serving on special task forces as indicated
Provides direction and leadership by directing Charge Nurses, RNs, LVNs, and MHTs in the milieu management of the unit.
Provides appropriate intervention in psychiatric and medical crisis situations
Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit program, and hospital mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required; Preferred: Bachelor degree from an accredited Nursing program.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year(s) of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain an active Registered Nurse license issed by TX BON or Maintain an active RN Multi state compact license.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation.
