Qualifications

• RN licensed in state or compact state
• 1–2 years of nursing leadership experience
• Associate degree or higher in nursing

Responsibilities

• Oversees hospital operations during assigned shifts with appropriate staffing
• Monitors census, admissions, discharges, transfers; optimizes bed utilization
• Acts as administrative contact during non-business hours; resolves inquiries and conflicts
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates resources for safety and quality care
• Serves as incident commander in disasters until relieved by a senior leader
• Supervises nursing staff; provides clinical guidance and delegation
• Maintains compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
• Balances resources to deliver cost-effective, high-quality care
• Handles patient/family inquiries with professionalism and empathy
• Completes midnight census and hospital rounds to ensure safety and accuracy
