MEDEX STAFFING NETWORK LLC is seeking an experienced RN House Supervisor to join our team in San Francisco, CA. This is a 13-week contract offering a dynamic leadership role with responsibility for clinical oversight and operations across nursing units.

The ideal candidate will hold a California RN license with BLS and ACLS, 3–5 years in acute care, and prior supervisory experience. Will lead staff, manage patient flow, and respond to emergencies in a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in CA (or compact)
• 3–5 years clinical nursing in acute care/hospital
• Prior charge nurse or supervisor experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong critical thinking, communication and conflict-resolving abilities
• Ability to lead under pressure in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clinical oversight of nursing units during shifts
• Coordinate patient flow, bed management, and staffing assignments
• Serve as on-site nursing leadership resource for staff, physicians, and ancillary teams
• Respond to clinical emergencies, codes, and rapid response situations
• Monitor compliance with hospital policies and patient safety protocols
• Facilitate interdepartmental communication to optimize care delivery
• Mentor and support nursing staff with real-time feedback

• Provide administrative and clinical oversight of all nursing units during assigned shifts
• Coordinate patient flow, bed management, and staffing assignments across departments
• Serve as the on-site nursing leadership resource for staff, physicians, and ancillary teams
• Respond to and manage clinical emergencies, codes, and rapid response situations
• Monitor and ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols
• Facilitate interdepartmental communication and collaboration to optimize patient care delivery
• Mentor and support nursing staff, providing real-time guidance and performance feedback

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of California (or compact license eligibility)
• Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Prior charge nurse, supervisory, or house supervisor experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of patient flow, staffing management, and bed coordination
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work independently and lead effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
