Job summary

Kansas Medical Center, L.L.C. is seeking RN Clinical Coordinators on 1st and 2nd shifts to orchestrate hospital-wide patient flow and to manage nursing staffing ratios across departments.

This role provides guidance and serves as a resource for nursing staff, with emphasis on calm decision-making and strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers, adjusting staff assignments based on acuity, and supporting bedside teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and RN License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications including PALS, TNCC, Conscious Sedation, and NIH Stroke Scale are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers; adjust nursing staff assignments and reallocate personnel based on unit acuity.
• Assist bedside staff, address equipment failures, and resolve interdepartmental bottlenecks.
• Provide 24/7 coverage support and guidance to nursing teams; prioritize patient safety and flow across units.

Description

Kansas Medical Center is adding 1st and 2nd shift RN Clinical Coordinators to orchestrate hospital-wide patient flow, manage staffing ratios across nursing departments, and serve as a resource for nursing staff. The Clinical Coordinator needs exceptional interpersonal and critical thinking skills, can easily multi-task; requires the ability to remain calm and provide direction and instruction when faced with challenges. The Clinical Coordinator does not supervisory or managerial duties.

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers; adjust nursing staff assignments and reallocate personnel based on unit acuity; assist bedside staff, address equipment failures, and interdepartmental bottlenecks. Assist with bedside nursing as needed.

Position provides 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and Registered Nurse License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing is required. BLS and ACLS certification required. Additional certifications: PALS, TNCC, Conscious Sedation, and NIH Stroke Scale Certification.

Kansas Medical Center is a fully physician owned 58 bed hospital including ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Telemetry, offering a wide array of specialties for both inpatient and outpatient services.
