RN Hospital - Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at our Cleveland, OH campus. This position is part of a local job opportunity with ID 3196571962, active since 2025-05-19.

The G52/G53/G54 SICU provides high-quality care for patients with acute perioperative needs or post-operative complications.

Work Schedule: This role involves day/night rotations from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 7:30AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, and update patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patient conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Follow physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and their families about care and treatments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current state licensure as an RN.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • At least one year of current acute care RN experience; military RN experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical and Safety Requirements:

  • Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
  • Physical exertion involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Use of standard precautions and PPE as required.
