RN Hospital Float Pool 3-12's Days Capitol Hill Seattle

Hospital Float Pool Med Surg Tele/ED 3-12 Hour Days with Rotating Weekends and Holidays.

Telemetry experience required.

Depending on schedule, eligible for new contract differentials up to an additional $11.50/hour.

American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required upon hire.

Job Summary

Provide nursing care to a defined group of patients, adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington ambulatory Nursing Care Standards, the Nursing Code of Ethics, and Kaiser policies. Coordinate and facilitate healthcare services, collaborate with the healthcare team, and oversee patient assessment and care planning.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans using the nursing process. Assist patients and families in developing health goals, prioritize care, and provide safe interventions. Communicate pre- and post-intervention information, provide telephone consultations, and modify care plans based on patient response.
  • Understand effects of aging, communicate effectively with age-specific populations (Neonatal to Geriatric), participate in educational activities, and collaborate with healthcare team members in planning and care delivery.
  • Recognize and address psychosocial, cultural, and emotional needs of patients and families. Orient patients to nursing services, reinforce rights and responsibilities, and develop educational components for care plans. Promote compliance and educate based on scientific knowledge.
  • Assess lifestyle risks, incorporate health promotion and prevention, and encourage patient self-care. Document according to standards, ensure a safe environment, and adhere to infection control guidelines.
  • Identify personal learning needs, participate in ongoing education, staff orientation, and quality assurance activities. Engage in professional development and research, and maintain professional standards and appearance.

  • Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington or Compact) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) required at hire.
  • Pediatric Life Support required within 6 months of start.
Additional Requirements
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ambulatory care nursing experience.
