Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, is seeking an RN to join the Float Pool and provide direct nursing care across multiple departments within the Cleveland Clinic Health System. You will implement, monitor and revise patient care plans, administer medications, document conditions, educate patients and families, and coordinate discharge needs.

Rotating shifts are 7:00am–7:30pm and 7:00pm–7:30am with weekends and holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within six months of hire in areas performing moderate/procedural sedation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

The Float Pool offers caregivers the ability to support diverse populations across numerous departments, units, and/or locations within the Cleveland Clinic system. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position can choose to work rotating shifts from 7:00AM – 7:30PM and 7:00PM – 7:30AM, OR 3:00AM – 3:30PM and 3:00PM – 3:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN or BSN program)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire in areas performing moderate/procedural sedation

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• One year of RN experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
