Hours/Shift: Full Time / Weekends from 4:00p Fridays to 8:00a Mondays

Key Responsibilities: Serves patients in an outpatient setting. Hospice RNs coordinate the implementation of a Hospice Plan of Care for each assigned patient. Works under the direction of the physician and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide nursing care to patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Utilizes the nursing process to make continuing assessments of the patient’s total health needs; implements nursing interventions based on assessment data; develops and implements the nursing plan of care and evaluates the patient’s response. Nurses educate patients and families about the disease process; help manage and control pain and other symptoms and offer solace to those in distress. Hospice RNs are a part of an interdisciplinary inpatient hospice team that supports patients and their families at a critical juncture in their lives.
Experience: One (1) or more years of experience in acute care nursing or hospice
Work Requirements: Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, possess good oral and written communication skills, care for patients in a variety of home settings. Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient to 300 lbs, able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach, while working with patients for the entire shift. Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Requires travel, in properly insured vehicle, throughout our service area.
