Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide in-home care to pediatric and/or adult patients. The role involves applying the nursing process, administering medications, and coordinating care with families and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where practicing.
• Current Health Certificate (per facility RN contract or state regulation).
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and/or services provided to client(s).
• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests revisions as patient status changes.
• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and goals.
• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient condition and reports to physician or supervisor.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, monitors and documents effectiveness.
• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for patient education, care coordination, discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required
• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable

Requirements
