Job summary

Maimonides Medical Center is seeking a Per-Diem RN in Hematology/Oncology to provide direct nursing care under supervision. You will collaborate with an experienced team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The role requires NYS RN licensure and BLS certification, with 1–2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience, and offers a shift-based schedule with weekend and holiday coverage expectations. Base hourly rate is $69.35 plus experience differential.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS licensure as RN is required.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS & PALS preferred.
  • APHON certification preferred or obtained within first 4 weeks of hire.
  • 1-2 years of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience required.

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Nursing Director or Assistant Nursing Director provides direct nursing care to patients.

9. * Provides specialty-specific care as outlined by Maimonides Medical Center.

OTHER JOB DUTIES

Maintains competencies in individual field of responsibility

Participates in the interview and evaluation of new health care team members

Acts as preceptor for new health care team members

Utilizes computer systems as they pertain to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy

Assures a safe environment and milieu in accordance with organizational policies and procedures

Participates in MMC’s ongoing Quality Performance Improvement initiatives; identifies opportunities for organizational improvements.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education:

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing school required; BSN preferred.

Current NYS licensure as RN required.

Current BLS certification required. ACLS & PALS certification preferred. APHON certification preferred or obtained during the first 4-weeks of hire.

Experience:

Professional nursing experience appropriate to the service and the position.

1-2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience REQUIRED.

Skills:

Clinical skills for patient care delivery through the nursing process.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills.

Analytical skills

Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; fluency in a second language preferred.

As a Per Diem RN, you will be expected to meet the following scheduling requirements:

  • Work a minimum of four shifts per month
  • Work a minimum of two weekend days per month
  • Work one summer holiday and one winter holiday each calendar year

Your base hourly rate will be $69.35, which does not include your experience differential calculated at $0.51 per hour for each year of verified nursing experience with a max of 15 years.

Pay Range

USD $69.35 - USD $69.35 /Hr.
